Questions

Is there a US federal company register? No. Companies are registered by each state, such as Delaware or Florida.

Do US companies still file beneficial ownership reports? Under FinCEN’s final rule effective 14 August 2026, US domestic companies no longer file; foreign entities registered to do business in the US still report.

Is the Canadian ISC register public? Yes for CBCA corporations since 22 January 2024, but Corporations Canada does not let you search it by an individual’s name.

Sources: each listing is compiled from the registry’s own website, the government body that runs it, official fee schedules and legislation, and the EU e-Justice portal. Every source is linked on the listing with the date it was checked. How we compile this reference
